In case I haven’t made it very clear, I love Oprah. (There may or may not have been tears)
I’ve been to 2 seminars like this one in my life time, the first was with his Holiness The Dalai Lama, and now with The Queen of talk shows, Oprah Winfrey. Each time I have walked away feeling inspired and energised.
Oprah does not sing, she does not dance, instead she talks. The theme of the night was her voice, and to pass on the information she has learnt to ‘Live your best life’.
After all isn’t that what we’re all just trying to do? Live the best life you can.
As I walked out of the Entertainment Centre and towards our car I could feel a shift in my own energy levels, a vibration that was higher than before. I went with one of my oldest friends (another O fan girl) and it was interesting to see what points we both took away from it. We had most in common but some resonated with each of us stronger.
Based on our personalities, we both took away lessons that we needed at the time.
There was so much information to take in but here are the things that resonated with me and that I plan on implementing in my own life.
Set Intention- With all you do, do it with intention. When faced with a task or opportunity, set your intention and ask yourself what you want to get out of it. The need to please runs strong through human veins, if something doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. It’s that simple.
You become what you believe- It is a deeply spiritual belief that you become what you believe, not what you want. Listen to what you really think about and this is where you are headed. The good news is that this can be changed. Really believe what you want in life and exactly how that is going to look. Believe it every day.
Be responsible for your energy- You are only responsible for yourself. You cannot control what others do with their energy so stop trying. You can however be in control of your own energy, and this does affect others. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, such a powerful statement.
Excellence is the best deterrent- Have you ever had someone try to bring you down? Excellence is the best deterrent. Strive for excellence.
Write a new story- Each day you wake up and get a second chance to do it again and do it right. Forget yesterday, today you have the gift of a new beginning, use it. And if you don’t quite get there? Guess what, tomorrow is another day.
(Blurry picture yes, but its the best shot I’ve got of her!)
There was so much more I haven’t covered but these were the points that resonated with me on a deeper level. The consensus of the evening and message that reined throughout was to be you. Be truly you. Find out what it looks like to be you and strive for that with all you do. If you fall down, pick yourself up and try again.
You are the captain of your soul, you are the master of your fate.
Ms Winfrey, once again you did not disappoint. I can now die a happy gal with Oprah in my heart (Dramatic much?)
Did anyone else go and see Oprah? What’s something on your bucket list?
