If gaining composure, clarity, and mental fitness are on your to-do list, meditation is an ideal way to start your day. Choose an allotted amount of time. You could even start with 5 minutes and meditate at the same time for the same amount of time every day. When I wake up in the morning I crawl out of bed on to my meditation pillow and get started. I usually follow my breath and close my eyes for around 30 minutes per day. When thoughts start to clutter your mind (and they will) come back to your breath and start over.
