What is Vedic Meditation? First derived from Vedic texts in India, roughly 5,000 years ago, this form of Meditation was made popular and mainstreamed by the famed Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1995 under the more commonly used name Transcendental Meditation. Whilst slight variations between the two forms of the practice have evolved over time, Vedic Meditation and Transcendental Meditation remain very closely linked. With practice and correct instruction, Vedic Meditation leads to a natural stillness of the mind which can be achieved by the practitioner both effortlessly, and at will. Vedic Meditation is unique and popular as it does not require the practitioner to forcibly focus the mind on a singular goal or outcome, but rather encourages stillness, inner change and personal enlightenment by leveraging the minds natural desire to reflect inwardly and remain silent. The technique and practice of Vedic Meditation allows the normal heightened activity of the conscious mind to settle downnaturally until it is left perfectly quiet, whilst still wide awake and alert. It allows the stresses and tiredness of daily life to be dissolved naturally which results in improved energy levels, clarity of thought and increased enjoyment of life. Needing only a quiet area and a comfortable place to sit, Vedic Meditation is the essential antidote for the stresses and complications of a 21st Century lifestyle and the greatest personal gift you will give yourself in 2015. Namaste Why Must You Learn To Meditate? Advocates of the Meditative process discuss the benefits of Meditation on the body and mind.
Meditation Is The Foundation Of A Happy Life True Inner Peace Starts With Meditation. Thich Nhat Hanh Zen Master “The mind can go in a thousand directions, but on this beautiful path, I walk in peace. With each step, the wind blows. With each step, a flower blooms. Breathing in, I calm body and mind. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment I know this is the only moment.” ‘In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. Our life is a long and arduous quest after Truth.’ Mahatma Gandhi A Balanced Life Starts With A Balanced Mind. Hugh Jackman Hollywood Actor “Meditation is all about the pursuit of nothingness. It’s like the ultimate rest. It’s better than the best sleep you’ve ever had. It’s a quieting of the mind. It sharpens everything, especially your appreciation of your surroundings. It keeps life fresh.” …………………………….. ‘Rest in natural great peace, this exhaustedmind, beaten helpless by karma and neurotic thought, like the relentless fury of the pounding waves in the infinite ocean of Samsara.’ Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche
