Mysore painting is a rich classical south Indian painting and its origin dates back to 17th century in the erstwhile state of Mysore (now Karnataka). Mysore paintings are characterized by delicate lines, intricate brush strokes, graceful delineation of figures and the discreet use of bright vegetable colours and lustrous gold leaf.

Madhubani painting is a traditional art form depicting Hindu mythology, god, goddesses and festivals and is practiced by rural women of Madhubani district in state of Bihar India. The paintings depict the life and sensibilities of that region and makes it unique and remarkable.
