“I don’t have time for that!” “I can’t sit still that long.” These are the things I hear all the time. There are so many healthy, active individuals who overlook the importance of meditation for their overall health and well-being. In our fast paced world, Meditation is the reset button for your body and mind.
If your brain had its druthers, it would hold onto negativity in your life. Meditation can make you more compassionate, healthier, and it releases the stress, anxiety, and tension you carry around with you.
It can make you more compassionate: It’s not only good for your well-being, but also those you interact with. According to study, regular mediation lends to do-good activities and helping others. In this study, researchers observed participants to see if they would help someone on crutches waiting in a fake waiting room. Only 15 percent of people who did not participate in regular meditation helped the person on crutches. In contrast, up to half of those practicing in regular mediation assisted the person on crutches.
You can toss those blood pressure pills: Speaking of waiting rooms, be prepared to spend less time in one. Upon participating in meditation, you’ll surely notice your heart rate lower, however, your blood pressure will benefit long after the session ends. Regular relaxation results in the formation of nitric oxide, which opens your blood vessels, thereby regulating blood pressure naturally. Of course, consult with your physician before actually throwing away prescribed medication!
It helps you get your Zzzzzz’s: It’s difficult to sleep when you are still holding onto the day’s stressors and issues. By regularly practicing mindfulness and staying in the present, one can more deeply relax and let go at bedtime. Good sleep is the basis of a lot of good health and remedy to a lot of bad.
These are just a few of the healing benefits meditation has to offer, could you benefit from any of these or more? with me so we can set up your personal meditation time or group session.
