Ceremonies
On June 22, we will be holding the Annual Memorial Festival at the site of the old Chinese Temple in Lytton. This ceremony is dedicated to the Chinese people who died during the gold rush and while working on the construction of the railway, as well as to all beings who have died in the area.
As always, anyone is welcome to visit for a short or long stay at the Priory on Dragon Flower Mountain.
People who have not received meditation instruction in our tradition will be given this instruction upon their arrival. People are requested to practice our Tradition of meditation and training while attending retreats.
The retreats are open to all; however, if you don’t have a fairly regular meditation practice, we would not recommend coming for an entire week at a time.
People are welcome to come for part of a retreat. We request that you inform us when you will be coming and leaving, and arrive on time. If you need to leave earlier than you had intended, please let us know you are doing so. Sometimes, people can find retreats to be rigorous, and if you need extra rest, it won’t be a problem.
We will try our very best to accommodate all who wish to come: we have fairly limited space for guests, and conditions are somewhat primitive. If you have a camper, RV, or tent, we have plenty of camping areas on the property.
The Priory does not charge fees for any of our activities. There will be an Offering Bowl put out for those who wish to donate money, all of which will go to the upkeep and support of the Priory and the Monastic Community. Vegetarian meals will be provided by the Priory. If you wish to bring vegetarian food donations, please check with us first so that we can let you know what is most needed at the time.
If you are interested in attending any retreat or ceremony, or in coming for a visit, please contact us. Our phone number is 250-455-0344; our email address is .
