The Kids in my Thursday Yoga class thought it would be cool to have homework. Most of our homework ideas are fun for kids of any age!
Here is the homework for this week… very simple… very powerful… try it often, and maybe it will become a healthy habit for you:
So Hum Meditation:
Begin by sitting or lying quietly in a warm, clean place. Feel your breath as it moves in and out through your nose. Gently guide the breath to become smooth and even.
As you Breathe IN say “So” and as you Breathe OUT say “Hum”. So… Hum… So… Hum… So… Hum…
Try it for 1-5 minutes (or up to 15-30 minutes). Then try it whenever you think of it.
Do it by yourself or with your family. How about in the car? or while you are walking? or for 10 breaths before each meal?
What other times can you/do you listen to your breath and enjoy the “So Hum” meditation?
Do you remember what “So Hum” means? If not, do some research to find out.
