The day after. The day after my successful-but-crashed teleseminar has been fascinating for me. The feedback from the session continues to come in and continues to be extremely positive in spite of the crash. I also learned a great deal about process and am changing so many of the pieces. And people are already registering for the January 17th day-long writing webinar! I spoke with the folks in Key West today and we’re good to go with the retreat there in August. Registration for it will open in the next couple of weeks as will the retreat in Palm Springs and several online webinars. This is such a busy, exciting, crazy time and I’m thrilled! And amen to today’s meditation below!
I got my hair cut today then had a session with trainer Kevin. When one gets older, one gets stiff. (DUH!) For as active and good a shape as I’m in, I still have lots of tight places that need TLC, except it feels like mini-torture with Kevin! But I’m doing it and plan to move further into my senior years far more limber and strong than I already am, damn it! I can do this!
Today I am grateful for my body and my health and for my willingness to push it further.
My meditation today from Living Life Fully: Sometimes things which at the moment may be perceived as obstacles – and may actually be obstacles, difficulties, or drawbacks – can in the long run result in some good end which would not have occurred if it had not been for the obstacle.
On this day in LGBT history (from QUIST and/or Lavender Effect: 1980: The New York State Court of Appeals abolishes the state’s sodomy laws; 1982 -The Quebec government overwhelmingly approves a measure that gives domestic partners of gays and lesbians legal protection and access to economic benefits previously restricted to straight; 1984 – The Times of Harvey Milk wins the New York Critics’ Award for Best Documentary of the Year; 1998 – The Maryland Court of Appeals rules that a parent’s access to his or her children cannot be restricted due to his or her sexual orientation; 2010 – The U.S. Senate votes 65 to 31 in favor of repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. President Obama officially repeals the military policy a few days later.
It’s good to be 67!
