Meditation is a simple practice to help promote health and well-being. In the workshop you will hear about the benefits of meditation and why it has a positive effect on mind, body and spirit, learn the practice and experience relaxation. You can gain the confidence to make meditation part of your daily life to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.

Meditation is a practice used by many of the world’s religions and by people of no specific faith, as a way of settling the mind, promoting inner peace and fulfilment and reducing stress.

A Christian definition of Meditation given by the early monks – ‘meditatio’ comes from the phrase ‘medio in stare’ which means ‘to remain in the centre’. Meditation was closely linked to the repetition of the Scriptures and was taught as a way of opening the heart and mind to deeper meaning.
