Knowing the distraction doesn’t mean it’s a failure: Meditation is not something that you have to work hard for or force yourself to completely focus on for long periods of time. Preventing thinking can only give a negative impact on the meditative practice. Whenever we become lost or confused while meditating, weacknowledge those thoughts, surround them with compassion and gently return the attention back to meditating. You can apply this as many times as a distraction occurs. After, a while the mind stops playing its games and becomes calmer, naturally. Insight alone is not enough: Having an insight, although often breathtaking and and quite subtly powerful, will not change our lives nor transform them alone. We need to take action and follow through on those insights. Meditation helps us by benefitting us with perspectives and clarity of thought. Our sense of inner guidance may become stronger,but unless we act on that guidance we will never achieve the noticeable changes, that we truly desire in our life. This means that we have to be persistent in requesting the assistance of the unconscious in a very clear way. You find yourself magnetically drawn towards your dreams with an enchanting and fascinating impulse. Learning to let go: Learn to trust your unconscious, your inner wisdom. Onceyou have made your request, don’t worry about how you are going to fulfill your dreams and get what you truly want in life. Most changes will happen naturally. Many people find out that their stress and destructive habits have dropped away with minimal conscious effort. This can be achieved by “letting go” and realising that spiritual growth is a natural process which is powered by parts of ourselves which know better than we tend to understand and comprehend consciously. As we let go consciously and gain and receive more input from these inner, deeper parts, we are learning to trust this inner peaceful, contented feeling, the feeling which we feel safe and secure in.
