Principal Teacher // Sue commenced her yoga journey in 2000 with an 8-week beginners course in the Iyengar tradition. Then for 5 years she ventured toward the power of Astanga yoga Although initially drawn purely to the physical aspects of yoga, after some time of continued practice, something shifted in her and she began to explore the spiritual aspects of yoga as well as the physical.
Over a period of ten years of practice, including retreats and specialist training with her teaching mentor, Louisa Sear, Sue’s knowledge and understanding of the power of Yoga deepened. As a natural progression of her own dedication Sue, eventually felt ripe to pass on what she had learned through teaching and classes and so she obtained her yoga teaching certificate.
Sue offers the benefits and combined wisdom of the many teachers, trainings, and retreats she has experienced in over a decade of training. Her classes range from shanti shanti (peaceful and relaxing) to energetic, sweat-inducing vinyasa flows. Sue infuses her passion for yoga in each posture, giving gentle but encouraging cues with particular emphasis on the breath, playfulness, and enjoyment of the present moment.
Sue says, “I am passionate about teaching. I am ever aware of my yoga influence on my students and am encouraged at the positive feedback I receive from my instruction. To watch my regular students develop their practice, then to know that my guidance has in some way had a positive impact on their Yoga journey is so fulfilling it is hard to put into words. I am filled with gratitude.”

Thursday mornings 9.30am // Paula first started practising Yoga about 20 years ago, originally to compliment her running as a way to increase her flexibility and to offset the effect on her body from running. She became an Asana addict, giving up running as it interfered with her Yoga practice. More recently Paula was drawn to the spiritual aspect of Yoga and its capacity to heal the body, mind and spirit and this ignited a love and passion for Yoga that she wanted to share with the world. Having the practice of Yoga to turn to during times of extreme stress and turmoil has changed Paula’s life and she believes that it not only can make the lives of individuals better but has the power to make the world better. Paula has completed a 200 hour foundation teaching course based on the contemporary Power Vinyasa Style and intends to further her professional development as a teacher by studying Yoga Therapy. Paula has a strong interest in working and supporting women going throughchange of life and beyond and to make Yoga more accessible for the older age group.
Paula brings to her teaching previous study and experience as a Fitness Trainer and this has provided her with a deep understanding of how the body works, and how to practice safely. Paula teaches from a place of love, and service to her students with a strong focus on alignment and she is enjoying combining the gentler Hatha Yoga approach with her stronger Vinyasa Flow style.
Friday mornings 7.15am // Andi’s style of yoga can simply be described in one word: Inclusive. Andi strongly feels that every single person, irrespective of age, gender, size or physical ability – and previous yoga experience, if any, for that matter – should be able to come to her class and feel welcome, safe and included.
“In today’s world, kindness and compassion, not only to ourselves but towards all other beings on this planet, should be a priority, rather than a quirk,” she says. “I once read somewhere that we should be called Human Doings rather than Human Beings, because we are constantly doing stuff. At the same time, our mind chatter never stops and we end up being physically and mentally exhausted, which often manifests as some form of “dis-ease”. Gentle yoga postures, calming breath-work, relaxation and meditation are the key to creating stillness, not only on the physical but also on the mental level.”
Andi’s yoga journey began sometime around 2006 when she first started taking Iyengar-style classes at the Phoenix Yoga Studio in the town of Mullingar, close to her home in rural Ireland. Straight away she was taking to yoga like a fish to water and over the years she attended classes with various teachers and styles in Mullingar and Dublin. The intention of one day becoming a yoga teacher was never far from Andi’s mind and continued when she moved to Perth in late 2011, but it took until June 2014 for her to finally embark on that part of her journey. Come and join Andi on the mat, we’re not fancy here, we are all one.
Friday mornings 9.30am // “The main goal of my classes is to strike that delicate balance between the physical practice and the spiritual awareness that makes Yoga so unique and powerful.”
