Meditation is the art of not escaping and being with what is – Dhyan Vimal
Meditation is about coming back to oneself, to reflect where we are, and where we are heading. The ‘no-mind’ state is considered out of reach by many, as they don’t see how they could empty their mind. However, in our humble opinion no-mind is mind-ful-ness. It is a becoming aware of what is in your mind. It is witnessing what is in your mind in order to grow from it, rather than trying to eliminate mind chatter. Perhaps one day we will graduate to zero chatter, but for now we’ll gladly take the lessons.
Sitting silently to reflect on and witness oneself has many benefits. Yet, Connect Your Center does not believe in magic poses and other rules. If meditating is easier to do lying down or sitting in a chair, why not? If it is easier to do a walking meditation in a forest with your dog, why not arrange this setting? Why not listen to your inner voice and see if it would benefit more from conscious breathing or from focusing on a question or topic?
Connect Your Center found the great webpage by Headspace. It points out great benefits of meditation found by Western scientists. These benefits completely match what Connect Your Center feels as well.
“The state of meditation is the capacity to look at anything, whatever is rising and falling within you, without a judgement or reaction. Without blame, guilt, accusation, proving; simply watching whatever is rising and falling in you.” – Dhyan Vimal
We offer meditation at public places, in private group settings and for individuals. Breathing meditation, silent sitting with guidance and reflection, and moving meditation are some of the options offered. Please Connect Your Center for further details on private/individual settings, as we’d rather customize it to what works for you.
Mastery Meditation
Rose Anne first did the Mastery Meditation in 2008 with her friend Astrid, and has noticed great benefits. The first half focuses on witnessing where you are through 4 different steps. The second half focuses on mastery of your creation supported by music through 3 different steps where you create whatever is appropriate this moment (dancing/movement is recommended, but not required).
Please stay tuned for new dates at public locations.
The Masters’ Breath Technique
“This technique dates back around 2,500 years. The ancient scriptures say that man is split, because of the division between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. In fact they link the activity of the brain to the breathing rhythm, where one nostril is more dominant, at any one time. Thus if the right nostril is active, the left brain is activated and vice versa. The Masters’ Breath integrates and harmonizes these two sectors of the brain to open up the seed of intelligence.”
