Suppose there existed a vast and deep ocean the size of the world, and on its surface there floated a golden yoke, and at the bottom of the ocean there lived a blind turtle.. Kadampa Buddhism is a modern presentation of Buddha’s teachings. The teachings are pure (nothing added and nothing taken away) but presented in a way busy modern people can easily understand and integrate in to their normal daily life. Meditation is a mind that concentrates on a virtuous objects. It is therefore a simple yet profound method to acquaint the mind with virtuous qualities such as wisdom and compassion, and it is the main cause for experiencing mental peace and happiness in the future. There’s no need to be unhappy. The real source of happiness is not your bank account but inner peace. If our mind is peaceful we shall be happy all the time, regardless of external conditions. When things go wrong in life we tend to regard the situation itself as the problem, but in reality whatever problems weexperience come from the mind. If we respond to difficulties with a positive or peaceful mind , they would not be problems for us. . The kindest thing we can do for others is learn to control our mind, free our self from our own problems and nurture virtuous qualities like love and compassion. When we are happy we naturally want to benefit others.
