You are a spirit having a physical experience! Transformational meditation is based on this understanding and is intended to create a shift in consciousness that validates the spirit, which in turn creates a transformation of physical reality.
There are many types of meditation available in today’s world – most focus on spiritual growth while some newer forms known as secular meditation limit their focus to stress reduction, relaxation, and self-improvement. It is important to ask yourself what you want to get out of meditation so you will have a compass to direct you to the meditative practice that will work best for you.
The type of meditation I teach is intended to promote spiritual growth. It is designed to create a transformation of consciousness from the body-identified ego self, to the spirit-identified divine self.
What it is not: It is not movement based like certain yoga practices, and it isn’t built around focusing on an object, word, or phrase like many other forms of concentrative meditation.
What it is: The type of meditation I teach uses creative visualization techniques to work directly from intention, and is done while sitting comfortably in a chair with one’s eyes closed. Over time, this process creates a progressive shift in consciousness. This shift moves the practitioner through the limits imposed upon their consciousness by the physical senses into a place of expanded awareness of the energetic field of spirit and the principles of creativity. A spiritual, energetic, mental, and emotional transformation takes place – the practitioner’s inner wisdom is awakened, and the way they understand themselves and the world changes dramatically. This level of spiritual change opens the door for profound changes in their physical reality as well. Over time, a whole new level of self-healing, self-awareness, and creativity is achieved.
The practice does give you the same benefits as secular meditation in that you will experience relaxation, stress reduction, and self-improvement, but you will also experience much more than that. Your awareness will expand and your understanding of yourself and of the world will grow to include an awareness of energy, consciousness, and transformation. You will learn how to remember your greater self – the self that exists beyond the limits of our physical senses. You will begin to see from a place of conscious awareness how you create and how you are affected in physical reality by energy you have been unconscious of. You will learn how to access the higher planes of consciousness in a way that includes the body so that the information and healing you access in those higher planes can be incorporated into your daily life.
If you are a spiritual seeker ready to increase the power of your mind-body connection, and you are ready to create a profound shift in your consciousness, I encourage you to give this meditation practice a try!
