My story
I was facing extra-ordinary stress as a single parent and my health was suffering, before meditation transformed my life, my relationships and my self. My delight at discovering meditation soon transformed into the realization that meditation holds the solution to human issues like anxiety, stress, emotional pain and lack of energy.
I felt I found a way to clean out the directory and there were no more junk files taking up space and energy. I also noticed how the brain changes with meditation–what used to take me several hours to achieve with hours of meditation, became easier to do. Our mind seems to have incredible capacity to self-adjust, and adapt.
Professionally, I have worked in banks, financial companies, software companies, health and product certification companies. Educationally I have 2 MBAs, one in Finance and the other in Information Systems. When I realized I could easily enter a transcendental state and gain insight. I was stunned, and delighted with the richness of the inner life that became available to me as a result of meditation.
In 2008, I started to teach meditation publicly through a a meetup.com group that I started called Coquitlam Meditation. The guidance for meditation that I gave to others, came from a trance state and thus it was that I realized my life purpose was to help people have happier lives!
Why You Should Try Meditation With Me
I approach meditation from a very real, yet contemporary paradigm, yet there is a deep spiritual core in my teaching.
My approach is fun and a bit creative.
There is a dual purpose. Even though meditating is considered a right brain activity, developing the right brain i.e., intuition (insight, imagination, creativity) also helps develop the left-brain (logical, sequential processing). Meditation can help us solve those problems that cannot be solved with sequential processing. Instead we use the synchronous processing of the brain.
I offer comprehensive types of meditation, with many different techniques.
My training in meditation: First, do no harm
Even though my most insightful guidance about meditation, came during meditation, I wanted to study it formally–not just from one system but from as many that I could find. Since 2003 I’ve formally trained and earned certifications in Usui Reiki, Kundalini Reiki, Yoga Therapy, Hatha yoga, Hypnotherapy, Intuition development and Heart Resonance along with a sustained and committed practice of mindfulness meditation.
There are many ways to contemplate and achieve bliss of oneness (or Samadhi as it is called in Sanskrit), but there is no substitute for the practice of meditation. I’ve studied meditation from scientific perspectives, holistic healing as well as spiritual perspectives. That is why my teaching approach is integrative.
I write and share my work on my blog about various techniques and methods of meditation as well as the kind of questions and personal life dilemmas that people resolve through meditation.
