Love Matters “Fear is the cheapest room in the house. I would like to see you living in better conditions.” ~ Hafiz of Persia The Games People Play Last night after I sent out Love Letter #3, I immediately heard the title was going to be “The Games People Play.” Thankful for the inner prompt, I started to draft the letter. I spent 30 minutes before turning out the light cleverly crafting (in my hopeful mind) an invitation to play a game with me– the game of vibration where we become co-creators of our life and align to the vibrational frequency of what we desire. Law of Attraction 101. I wanted to remind myself and you that since we are these wonderful vibrating, energetic beings, if we know the rules in the game of vibration and alignment, we create a very different experience in Earth school as we learn to direct our thoughts and play in the realm of higher consciousness to manifest those experiences that bring us fulfillment, joy and love. More importantly,we get to experience thefullness of ourselves as source energy in total control of our lives. Therefore, if we don’t like what we see or how we are feeling, we can set our vibration to a different frequency to draw to us what we do desire to feel. Not always easy for us humans with the capacity to experience a wide range of emotions, but the point remains that we do have control if you know you are playing a game of vibration. At 5 am this morning, I forgot about the game as a persistent dripping sound coming from the wall behind my bed kept me wide awake. Since my entire professional life as an English teacher, a life coach and an intuitive has trained me to perceive things beyond the veils of the five senses, I start analyzing on multiple levels what the Universe might be trying to tell me about a wall making sounds so early in the morning. Immediately my mind went to a video I watched earlier in the week in which a collective consciousness called Abraham teases a woman complaining of sleeplessness aboutstaying in bed and obsessing about not sleeping. The advice was get out of bed to do something that puts her in a better emotional vibration rather than remaining in a negative state about not sleeping. Solid guidance I thought at the time. Then my mind flipped to a video I watched the day before from life coach Brendan Burchard in which one of his tips on making a significant life change is to take back control of your morning. If we wake up and allow ourselves to be immediately distracted by the outer world through our phones, Facebook and emails, we give our attention to what we see before us and let the Facebook statuses of our 762 friends, the news, and work messages set the tone for our day instead of taking the time to see what we might like to create from the inside out. “Common sense,” Mr. Burchard says, “but not common practice. Apparently. So instead of doing a meditation, going for a walk, journaling, or doing a visualization practice, I listened to see if I could decipherthe pinging sounds coming from the wall. For 73 minutes. By the time I decided to leave my bed (72 minutes later than I knew I should), I was in quite a negative emotional state asking God why do these things always happen to me? I need to go to a hotel. I am going to stay at my sister’s. I need to move. I felt the emotion of frustration welling up ready to be expressed in tears when a higher conscious state stepped in to wake me up. I burst out laughing. Ahhh…the games people play. Here’s the thing. I am sure if I really wanted to, I could dive a little deeper and figure out what inside of me was driving me from a state of fear to go back to the past and recall all the experiences similar to this where I couldn’t control my environment. The truth is sometimes things just happen out of our control and the only thing we can control is how we are going to respond to any situation. I have enough practice in the game of vibration and alignment to know that once I start caring enough abouthow I feel independent of what is going on around me that I can take control of the conditions of my playing field. I am 100% responsible for how I feel 100% of the time. I have created an amazing set of circumstances in my life in which I find much inspiration from the people I am in relationship with as well as the awe-inspiring experiences I have every day. However, in the game of vibration, I have learned that the conditions of life often diminish those higher emotional states and experiences. Therefore, one of the rules of playing this game is not to become dependent on the outer experience whether it is the relationship, the job or a silent house to set my vibrational tone. Instead, if I understand that every moment of my life including the undesired ones has the capacity to yield to me the same awe- inspiring vibration that I can feel in that sweet kiss, the mind-altering meditation, or the breathtaking sunset, I can radically alter my game. Yes, it is perfectly fine to focus onthe wonderful conditions of a new job, a well-deserved vacation, the new relationship and all the high emotions they create inside of us. However, part of leveling up in the game of vibration is to learn how to feel just as good being on your own, putting on your work uniform day after day or doing the dishes. That way we don’t become enslaved to the outer to make the inner feel good. Unconditional Alignment plus Unconditional Love equals Intentional Creation and makes you Master of Your Game, which is ultimately about knowing that you are source energy, the co-creator of your own experience and in alignment with the wonder-fullness of your inner being. So how do we even start playing the game when we are being consistently conditioned by society to make other people, things and experiences responsible for how we feel? And what about the game other people are playing in which we are the human tokens conditioned to respond to what our boss, our roommate, our lover, our parent, or ourchild wants because they, too, believe we are responsible for creating the conditions in their life that will make them feel good? To start and this takes practice, we can be willing to take responsibility for how we feel and adjust our vibration each time we are conscious enough to realize we are letting the outer condition have its way with us. In turn, you move towards a path of lesser resistance and better feeling, faster reaching vibrational alignment when your own wall starts trying to send you a love letter of its own at 5 in the morning.
