Yoga nidra is translated as “yogic sleep.” Yoga nidra takes you to the deepest state of relaxation possible—the space between sleep and wake—and holds you there for a long period of time. During this guided meditation, the prefrontal cortex, the thinking and analyzing part of the brain, is asleep. This provides you the opportunity to rewrite habitual negative thought patterns in the mind.
What’s unique about this practice is that it is 100% customizable to your mind. There is a specific time in this meditation for “intention dropping.” Your facilitator will work with you to create an intention specific to your needs, and it would directly rewrite a negative pattern in the brain. An example of an intention would be, “I am at peace with my life exactly as it is.” Through this “intention dropping,” you will notice a significant shift in your thinking patterns. Yoga Nidra is perfect for anyone wanting to break a habit, move past fears or phobias, or transcend self-defeating habits.
Yoga nidra is also great for anyone wanting to reset their nervous system. For people who experience chronic stress or trauma, these triggers send the nervous system into overdrive and a constant state of fight or flight. Yoga nidra resets the natural equilibrium in the body and mind so you can approach this fast-paced society in which we live with a feeling of ease and calm.
Each yoga nidra session is 60 minutes. If you don’t have the Integrative Wellness Membership, the package options are as follows:
3 sessions: 195
6 sessions: 360
9 sessions: 495
