This powerful traditional meditation, which involves observation of the natural breath brings balance and harmony to the mind and in the long term has the power to transform the mental habit patterns that can cause stress and unhappiness.
Regular practice of this technique will facilitate the release of deep stress; the cultivation of mindfulness in the present; greater concentration and focus; an increasingly balanced, positive and contented mind; subtler awareness of self and others; increased willpower; and transformation of unhelpful tendencies of the mind for example negative rumination, anxiety and anger.
The conscious mind is experienced as the observing mind in meditation. Quantum theory confirms the very basis of meditation practice as outlined by Patañjali, one of the greatest scientists of the mind, over 2000 years ago in his treatise The Yoga Sūtras. Through the very act of observation, the observer changes the behaviour of what is being observed. This system of meditation develops the skilful awareness to observe the fluctuations of the subconscious mind at a subtle level. This awareness brings balance and harmony to the mind and long term practice transforms the mental habit patterns that inhibit our ability to enjoy the present to the full.
